BRAND-O

MySpace Link: http://www.myspace.com/brandolatino

Brand-O was born in East LA and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, he is third generation Mexican-American. This Chicano always had a passion for rocking the mic. As a kid he would announce little league baseball games instead of playing ball and in high school he would do morning announcements over the hallway speakers. After high school he attended Rio Hondo College a.k.a. “Harvard on the Hill” where he took some broadcasting and journalism classes. In need of money, he took some time off from school and started working full time. After a couple of years he decided to enroll in a radio/production trade school where he hosted his own Internet radio show!

Brand-O got his first taste of working at a real radio station in 2007 when he started interning at KXOL in Los Angeles with Raq-C and DJ Eddie One. He was determined to learn everything he could. He would answer phones, do voiceover's, production, and also learned how to operate the computer system that plays the music. Some people thought he was crazy working for free, but he loved what he was doing! All his hard work and dedication would soon pay off!

Four months later he got hired as a music board operator/on air personality making him one of the few to be able to crack the mic in LA in such a short amount of time! “I feel very blessed and grateful to be able to do what I love in my hometown”. You can listen to Brand-O, weekends on Latino 96.3fm.
